Joe's Scriblings

PART 2

posted Jun 22, 2013, 12:39 PM by Joe Bubbico

Greetings from sunny and warm California! I won’t bother to apologize for how long it has taken me to get to this column as the is no excuse! Previously I wrote about not only how much God loves us but I felt like I skirted around how much we are pretty much commanded to love Him!  Consider that He created us to have fellowship with Him and created everything else for our pleasure. Continuing in the book of Mathew chapter 6 we read:
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? (clothing or outward appearance)
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?
Do we spit in the face of those who take care of us and provide for us out of love for us, I think not! We all know there are those who don’t like people who use others to get their own way or things they want. But we don’t like them or the way they act. The LORD has provided for us all as an expression of how much He loves us and all He asks in return is we love Him and believe in HIM! He did not say Love me and then I will do for you He loved us first then asked us to love Him in return. He has told us “I am a jealous God” I don’t think we comprehend this. He is not speaking of this silly petty kind of jealousy we have. This is a much stronger and better kind of jealousy it is hard to understand fully but it comes from There is only one true God and He could have made us puppets if He wished but instead gave us free will to love Him or not. But if we reject Him then we are rejecting all He has given us thus His type of Jealousy can take it all away in a moment if He wishes.
If your child throws every gift or good thing you give them back in your face will you not stop bringing those gifts? So to God gives us the right to reject Him but don’t expect Him to let you get away with throwing it back at Him forever!
Read those verses above again for the first time with understanding.
I am going to stop hear again and continue next month. I am glad to answer any questions you may have. My email is Jbubbico@aol.com  or by Phone at 951-232-7630

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit (refers to about an inch )unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon (the third King of Israel) in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothed the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more cloth you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
(KJV)

Surrounded

Heb 12:1-2
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(NIV)
This is a scripture I know I use a lot but it is the slogan of our ministry so to speak.

It is a great scripture and we should examine it, it speaks of the sin that we are surrounded by every day. It says we need to get out of the bad habits of the world and keep our eyes focused on the goal. We should not allow those around us who would cause us to stumble to get a foothold on us. Just as Jesus kept his eye on the job he had come to do, we must be the same! Paul in writing this book related it to a race, which seams to stem from his love for Olympic type games that were popular in his day. I just love it when I can play a little and relate it to an auto race!
We sure are thankful for the opportunity to serve you in this fashion and want to thank CMC for the space!

GOD BLESS,
JOE

Understanding God

Greetings in the name of Jesus! In we read John17:3 And this is life eternal , that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
I am often asked ”Can we know God if we can't comprehend him?”

.I have a small dog. She doesn’t comprehend everything about me, by any means. In fact, she doesnt comprehend much.

For example....I’m sure she thinks I am being mean, when I leave her alone every day to go off to earn money for her expensive dog food and her comfy beds.
She doesn’t understand why she can’t go everywhere with me when the car is too hot and she would die if I left her in it.
She doesn’t understand that I keep her on a leash in the yard so she wont wander out into the back field and become a coyote snack.

However, these things she does understand:
She knows that I love her, and that I will protect her.... when she is frightened, she comes to me.
She knows that I will provide for her...when she is hungry or thirsty, she comes to me.
She knows that I will respond to her wants and her needs...when she wants to go out, wants to be petted, or wants to play, she comes to me.

She KNOWS me, she trusts me, and she has a relationship with me, even though she does not understand everything about me.

I am not saying that we are like pets to God, but there is a correlation, here.
I know that God loves me, that He will provide for me, and that He will protect me. I don’t always understand why He does things the way He does, but I know He is good, He is merciful, and He is just, so I trust Him to run the world.

I don’t NEED to understand how He created the universe or grasp every detail about the spiritual realm in order to know God and have a relationship with Him.

God bless,
Joe

It’s 2013, I am 64, God is still on throne and Jesus has not called us home yet! We are here for a reason and it is to follow Jesus and lead others to Him. As I visit with racers at many levels I find that with the “economy” as it is most are worried about how to survive!

To those of you who have read my columns in the past I am sorry I stopped writing, and you who are new to these scrubbings welcome in the precious name of Jesus our Lord and savior! My intention is to write at least once a month, and use a little different format. The scripture below relates directly to my opening paragraph, I listed several verses so you can consider them in whole. But will be teaching them separately,

Matt 6:24-34
“24 You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Money and or stuff) This verse is Jesus teaching us about the things we let distract us from Him and thus we miss all he has for us! The first commandant says “I am the LORD your God and you shall have no other gods before me!” And that means that anytime we spend more time with that rather than with the Lord you are rejecting Him and putting a false god before Him. If you have put your faith, life and trust in Him then we become Born again, saved and are guaranteed eternal life in Heaven. But by our following the things of this world we are insulting our Lord. This stops God from blessing us to the full extent He wants to. The LORD said He is our sustainer He provides for all we need and often even things we just plain want. We need to make sure that whatever that thing is it does not become your god!

Race cars have always been my passion but my LOVE for Jesus is way beyond my love of any other person or thing. It means that thanking Him for the ability He has and will give me what I need to complete whatever is asked me! The words we hear most is “that is Sin or that could lead to Sin”. The word comes from a old word the actually is an archery term for missing the mark or target. God despises sin but He loves the sinner so much that He sent His son to Die for my sin and anyone who believes in Jesus, give their life to Christ and asks for forgiveness RECIEVES this FREE gift.

I am going to stop here and continue next month. I am glad to answer any questions you may have.
